Who we are
Ninth Square Zen is an affiliate of Village Zendo in New York City and practices within the broader lineage of the White Plum Asanga. Alison Kyu Sei Cunningham, who is a formal student at the Village Zendo and received precepts under Enkyo Roshi in 2001, is the primary organizer for the New Haven group.
NSZ is made up of people of all cultures, colors, abilities, ages, identifications, and beliefs. We appreciate and explore our differences in order to build understanding, harmony, and openness within our hearts and our communities.
We offer seating options of cushions and chairs. Practice involves seated meditation (zazen) and walking meditation (kinhin).
Practice is every Wednesday from 7:30 - 8:30am at the New Haven Pride Center at 50 Orange Street in New Haven, CT.
